About
Auto Lease Help is a website created to help current and future car lessees. The process of car leasing is, in theory, the same as financing a car. However, the way you interact with dealers could be different and a lot more stressful from what you’re used to because many dealers will take advantage of potential car lease owners when it comes down to payments.
I’m here to arm you with as much information as possible in order to help you save money by knowing exactly what to expect from dealers. The cars I’ve personally leased are as follows:
- Subaru Impreza
- Hyundai Sonata
- Honda Accord
- Infiniti G37
I’ve leased at either 36 or 39 months and have always decided on 12,000 miles per year. I have leased in California as well as Illinois (so I’m aware of the funky car lease tax rule for those in a state like Illinois for car leasing). I’m a research maniac and always did hours and hours of research before deciding to lease. Before committing to which car to lease, I researched nearly every competitor to Subaru, Hyundai, Honda, and Infiniti respectively, which basically covers the majority of automakers. On average, I’d say it took about a month and a half from the time I started researching to the time I signed the lease papers. Here’s how I’d break down the time I spent…on average.
- 2 weeks – researching like it was my second job. Reading reviews, comments on blogs, and articles as well as test driving.
- 1 week – narrowing my picks down to about 3 makes/models. Test driving again.
- 1 week – contacting dealers by email on “ballpark estimate” of monthly payments so I can start to focus on THE ONE. Researching lease rates for each of the 3 makes/models.
- 2 weeks – the most stressful part for me was the last two weeks in which I worked with numerous dealers. This is where I hope my website will help you by decreasing the amount of stress you have and ultimately saving you money.
Thank you for visiting Auto Lease Help and I hope this website becomes a reliable resource for you.
